My name is Robin Norgren, M.A. and I am here to help make Montessori philosophy more relevant in the classroom. I found my way into educational spaces as a mother of Creative children yet I am not an art teacher. Friedensreich Hundertwasser was a playful Austrian artist and architect who hated boring straight lines. He believed buildings should look like fairy tales, nature should grow on rooftops, and people should paint their own walls. [1, 2, 3]

No Straight Lines

He thought straight lines were unnatural and boring.

He loved wobbly, curvy, and dancing lines.

His buildings look soft, wiggly, and alive. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Trees as House Tenants

He believed trees were important guests on buildings.

He planted real forests on top of his roofs.

He called trees his "tree tenants" who shared the home. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Window Rights

He thought everyone should lean out of their windows and paint the walls around them.

He called this the "window right."

Every apartment looks unique and wonderfully messy.
