Small towns have cool secrets. Some have unusual laws, strange histories, or fun claims to fame that make them very exciting to explore. [1, 2]
Fun Small Town Facts
- A town with no cars: On Mackinac Island in Michigan, cars are banned. People get around by walking, riding bicycles, or riding in horse-drawn carriages. [1, 2]
- A town underground: In Coober Pedy, Australia, most people live in underground caves called "dugouts." They build homes under the ground to stay cool away from the hot desert sun.
- A town with a goat mayor: Fair Haven, a small town in Vermont, once had a wooden goat named Lincoln chosen as their honorary mayor during a community fundraiser.
