Super Smart Animals

Pigs rank among the smartest animals on Earth, even beating dogs at some video games and puzzles.

They can learn tricks, play simple games, and recognize their own names. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Mother Pigs Sing to Babies

Mother pigs (called sows) make special soft grunting noises that sound like singing when they feed their piglets.

Baby piglets learn to run right toward their mother's voice! [1]

Mud is Sunscreen

Pigs cannot sweat like humans do.

They roll in the mud to stay cool on hot days, and the mud acts as a shield to protect their skin from the sun.
