Owls are super cool birds that can turn their heads 270 degrees and have tube-shaped eyes instead of round eyeballs! There are over 200 species found on almost every continent. [1, 2, 3]

Head Turns

Owls cannot move their eyes side to side.

They have extra neck bones to turn their heads all the way around and look behind them. [1, 2]

Super Eyes

Their eyes are shaped like tubes held tight by skull bones.

They see very well far away, but things close up are blurry. [1, 2, 3]

Silent Flight

Special soft wing feathers break the wind.

They can fly and hunt in total silence
